Installing Elementor

Now that WordPress is installed, it’s time to set up the tools that make designing easy: Elementor and a compatible theme.

Step 1: Log Into Your WordPress Dashboard

Go to:yourdomain.com.au/wp-adminLog in with the username and password you created during the WordPress installation.

Step 2: Install the Hello Elementor Theme

The theme provides the foundation for your website design. While Elementor works with most themes, the Hello Elementor theme is lightweight and built specifically for Elementor.

  1. In your Dashboard, go to Appearance > Themes.
  2. Click Add New at the top.
  3. Search for Hello Elementor.
  4. Click Install, then Activate.

     

Your website now has a clean, fast theme that’s perfect for Elementor.

Step 3: Install the Elementor Plugin

Now we’ll install the actual page builder.

  1. From your Dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New.
  2. In the search box, type Elementor Website Builder.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.

     

Elementor is now ready to use. You’ll see a new Elementor menu in your WordPress dashboard.

Step 4: (Optional) Install Elementor Pro

Elementor’s free version is powerful, but if you want access to advanced features (like Theme Builder, Forms, Popups, and WooCommerce widgets), you can upgrade to Elementor Pro.

  • Go to the Elementor website, purchase Pro, and download the Pro plugin.
  • In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
  • Upload the Pro plugin ZIP file, install, and activate.
  • Connect your Elementor Pro license key to unlock all features.

Step 5: Verify Your Setup

To test that everything is working:

  1. Go to Pages > Add New.
  2. Click Edit with Elementor.
  3. The Elementor editor should open, ready for you to drag-and-drop widgets.
