Elementor Website Building Guide

Installing an Elementor template

One of the quickest ways to build a professional-looking website in Elementor is by using pre-made Templates and Design Kits. These give you ready-made layouts and site-wide styling so you don’t have to design everything from scratch.

Step 1: Open the Template Library

  1. In the Elementor editor, click the Folder icon inside a section or container.
  2. This opens the Template Library.

Step 2: Browse Templates

Inside the library you’ll find:

  • Blocks → single-section designs (like a testimonial block, hero banner, or contact form).
  • Pages → full-page layouts you can import (About page, Services page, etc.).
  • Design Kits (Site Kits) → complete collections that include multiple page templates plus global styles for fonts and colours. These ensure every page looks consistent.

👉 Tip: If you’re starting a brand-new site, a Design Kit is usually the best choice. If you just need to fill out one page, a standalone Page or Block might be enough.

Step 3: Insert a Template or Kit

  • For a Template: Hover over the block or page → click Insert.
  • For a Design Kit: Click Import Kit → Elementor will add the fonts, colours, and all pages included.

Once added, you can fully customise the text, images, and layout.

Step 4: Other Sources for Design Kits

While Elementor provides free and Pro kits inside the editor, you can also download third-party kits.

  • Envato Elements offers hundreds of Elementor Template Kits, covering industries like business, restaurants, real estate, health, and more.
  • You simply import them into Elementor (via the free Envato Elements plugin) and start customising.

👉 This is a great option if you want more variety than what’s in the default Elementor library.

Step 5: Save & Edit

  1. After inserting, adjust the layout with your own content.
  2. Use Global Styles from the kit for consistency, or override styles if you want a different look.
  3. Click Publish when ready.

Why Use Design Kits?

  • Consistency → All pages share the same typography and colour scheme.
  • Speed → You can launch a professional site in hours, not weeks.
  • Flexibility → Edit or swap out blocks/pages as needed.

Quick Recap

  • Templates come in three types: Blocks, Pages, and Kits.
  • Blocks = single section.
  • Pages = full page layouts.
  • Design Kits = full website design + global styles.
  • Kits are available inside Elementor and from third-party providers like Envato Elements.
