Before you dive into designing with Elementor, it’s a good idea to tidy up your WordPress settings. This makes your site look professional, improves SEO, and saves headaches later.
These changes only take a few minutes, but they set up a strong foundation for your website.

- From the Dashboard, go to Settings > General.
- Update:
- Site Title: Your business or website name (e.g., Christom Website Design).
- Tagline: A short description (e.g., Affordable, professional web design in Melbourne).

- Double-check your Email Address is correct (this is where WordPress will send admin emails).
- Scroll down and click Save Changes.
💡 Tip: Keep your tagline short and descriptive — it helps with SEO.

- Select Post name.
Step 4: Reading Settings
Let’s tell WordPress which page should be your homepage.
- Go to Settings > Reading.
- Under Your homepage displays, select A static page.
- Choose a page to be your Homepage (if you don’t have one yet, you can come back later).
- Optional: Choose another page for your Blog posts.
💡 Tip: If you won’t be using comments, it’s best to untick all the options. This will prevent spam.
